Account
Executive
Pattie Mastin has returned to our company after a 14-month absence,
and everyone is quite pleased. Actually, everyone is quite ecstatic
about Pattie’s return as the Account Manager for the Central
Region. Pattie had previously worked for our company for nearly
three years as a School Relations Coordinator and as an Account
Executive. Because of her previous experience, she was ready to
begin working upon her return without an extensive orientation
period. During the past two months, Pattie has been busy planning
the Illinois and Ohio Regional Meetings and has helped develop
the enhanced Regional Meeting PowerPoint presentation. She has
already led a teleconference on the topic of using myReports and
is looking forward to facilitating Web conferences in the future.
She also has begun calling on the customers in her territory and
will be traveling non-stop over the next few weeks.
As an Account Manager, Pattie’s responsibilities include
consulting with her customers about their needs and recommending
products, services, and strategies to help them perform their
jobs more effectively and efficiently, ensuring that customers’
needs are being met, visiting customers on-site, and leading Regional
Meetings, workshops, and teleconferences. Pattie will spend about
half of her time traveling and the rest in Winston-Salem.
Despite her familiarity with our company, services, and customers,
Pattie had several pleasant surprises-new owners, a new name,
and many new products-since returning to work here. Pattie especially
likes the new company name, Campus Partners, and the concept of
being a partner to our customers. She also likes the direction
the company has taken under new ownership. “It’s exciting
coming back to see how far the company has come and where it is
going,” Pattie said. “It’s great being included
as part of the team again.”
Pattie is particularly impressed with all the new Web-based products
that have been developed. When she left at the end of 2003, products
such as E-Exit, E-Bill, iPROMise, eXpressReports,
and myReports were in the initial planning stages. Now Pattie
is surprised to find that many customers are already using these
products. She is also impressed with the Cohort Right Track service,
which allows customers to focus collection efforts on a specific
group. From her past experience she knows how important the cohort
default rate is to institutions. “All these products and
services allow the company to be on the cutting edge in the marketplace,”
Pattie related. “Using these products will allow customers
to more efficiently manage their loan portfolios.”
Calling on customers is one of Pattie’s favorite activities.
She likes to see what their operations are like and how Campus
Partners can help them. She has an aggressive travel schedule
ahead of her, but she is excited that she has so many more solutions
available for her customers now. “I plan to increase awareness
of these products among our customers so they can take advantage
of all that we have to offer,” she said.
Pattie is originally from New York and is part of a large extended
family of 19. Her parents still live in Danville, NY, but one
sister lives in a neighboring community and a brother lives in
Raleigh so she stays in very close contact with her family. She
has a BA from the SUNY-Oswego and a Masters in School Counseling
from St. Bonaventure. She previously worked for Wake Forest University
as a Life Coordinator.
Pattie enjoys reading, gardening, and watching reality television
in her spare time. She likes to watch home redecorating shows
like “Trading Spaces,” and “Survivor”
and the “Amazing Race” are among her favorite shows.
She would like to be a participant on the “Amazing Race”
and has been trying to talk her sister into trying to sign up
for the show. Because her sister remains unenthusiastic, Pattie’s
road trips will have to be largely limited to customer visits
for now. That is just fine with Pattie and her colleagues at Campus
Partners, who are very happy to be reunited again.
